Broker: which would you rather trade on?
Broker pack ranks six Indian trading apps by which one you'd rather trade on. Zerodha, Groww, Angel, Upstox, INDmoney and ICICI Direct are brokers; your demat holdings sit with a depository, CDSL or NSDL, not with the broker itself. You are ranking the interface.
Questions
- Which brokers are in this pack?
- Six trading apps: Zerodha, Groww, Angel, Upstox, INDmoney and ICICI Direct. They appear two at a time under one prompt, and you tap the one you'd rather trade on until every pair is settled. The list is fixed for this pack; no seventh broker, bank, fund house or exchange is mixed in, and none of the six is described here as suitable or unsuitable for you. What you are comparing is the app you would rather sit in front of, not an account you are being pointed at.
- Where do my shares actually sit if I use one of these?
- Not inside the broker's app. Indian shareholdings are recorded in a demat account held with a depository — CDSL or NSDL — and the broker is the exchange member that routes your order and gives you the screen you tap on. Many brokers also act as a depository participant, the intermediary through which that demat account is opened and serviced, but the holding record itself sits at the depository level, not with the app. That split is why this pack calls itself an interface ranking: switching interfaces is a different thing from moving where a holding is recorded.
- How does the Broker pack ranking work?
- Rank'em shows two of the six at a time under the same prompt: which would you rather trade on. You tap one, the next unsettled pair appears, and it continues until every pair has been decided. With six items that is a short run of forced choices, not a form and not a comparison calculator. The site turns those taps into one ordered list for this session. There is no rating, no brokerage table, no uptime figure and no second pass that revises an earlier tap — when the last pair is done, the order reflects only what you tapped.
- Is this financial advice, or a recommendation about which broker to use?
- No. This is education only, the site is not registered with SEBI, and nothing here is investment, tax or financial advice. It names six brokers and describes the structural difference between a broker, a depository participant and a depository; it does not recommend opening, closing or switching an account. There are no stock tips, no named-stock prices, no return claims, no brokerage or charge tables and no past-performance figures on this page. Your finished order is a preference about an interface, not a judgement that one broker is safer, cheaper or better run than another, and choosing a broker depends on your own circumstances, which this pack does not assess.
- Is this a leaderboard, and can a broker pay for a higher rank?
- No on both. This is not a public table of the best broker in India, and the six are not competing for a sitewide slot. The order you finish comes from your own taps during this session only. There is no aggregate scoreboard other visitors climb, no sponsored placement and no referral arrangement, and no broker, bank, exchange or fund house can pay this site to move up the list. A broker appearing first means only that your pairwise choices put it there.
- Is my Broker ranking saved, shared, or tied to a name or email?
- The ranking you finish is for this session on this device. There is no sign-in, no name field and no email field on this page or elsewhere on the site, and no account is required to play. The pack does not build a public profile or a sitewide aggregate from your taps. The optional share action makes a poster of your own order if you choose to save or send it; that stays your list, not a paid placement and not a leaderboard entry. Ranking stays client-side for the session — the page is not collecting PAN, KYC, demat numbers or any broker login.
- Why rank six interfaces if the page is not picking a broker to open?
- Because Rank'em is a preference exercise, not a verdict about where an account belongs. Putting six apps in pairs forces a concrete choice about the thing you actually touch every day — the order screen, the watchlist, the habit — instead of a vague sense that they are all just 'trading apps'. Education here means naming the six, stating plainly that a broker routes orders while a depository records holdings, explaining the pairwise mechanic, and being explicit that the finished list is yours alone. When the pairs are done you have a personal order you can disagree with tomorrow, not a recommendation to act on.
- Does tapping an option open a broker app, Play Store listing, or Amazon / affiliate link?
- No. A tap only records which of the two you would rather trade on in this Rank'em session. It does not open Zerodha, Groww, Angel, Upstox, INDmoney or ICICI Direct, does not start an account-opening flow, and does not jump to a Play Store or App Store listing. It does not follow an affiliate or paid-placement link, and Amazon product or Associates links are not part of this pack. The page stays education about how the pack works and what is being ranked, not a storefront and not a referral funnel.
